What is InPost Pay?

InPost Pay means shopping made simple – stores, payment, and delivery all in one place, directly in your favorite InPost app. Just use the “Add to cart with InPost” button in an online store, and complete the whole transaction quickly in the InPost Mobile app.

You can also track all your orders and their status in one app – no more dozens of emails and messages from different stores. With InPost Pay you register only once, shop securely with a single click, use your preferred delivery and payment methods, and most importantly – all your shopping details, carts from different stores, payments, deliveries, statuses, and notifications are in one place.

InPost Pay is more than just payments – it’s a complete shopping experience, from checkout to delivery, at the touch of a button. You can easily pay for carts from different stores, with order history, notifications, payments, and deliveries gathered in one app.

Solution concept

The InPost Pay solution allows users to finalize their checkout directly in the InPost Mobile app, based on integration with different e-commerce platforms and online stores.

It addresses common e-commerce challenges:

  • Guest checkout without creating multiple store accounts

  • No need to re-enter delivery or invoice details

  • Reduced time from viewing a product to finalizing the purchase

  • Lower cart abandonment rate

Promoted Products (Hot Products) – a feature that allows merchants to highlight and promote their products directly in the InPost app.

This helps merchants not only increase conversion, but also:

  • drive more transactions,

  • boost store visibility in the app,

  • improve store positioning,

  • showcase a wider range of products to users.

Suggested Products (Recommendations) is a feature that allows the merchant to provide a list of recommended products for a given cart. The user will see these products in the InPost Mobile app and can add them directly to their cart.

With this feature, merchants can:

  • increase the average number of products per cart,

  • boost AOV (Average Order Value).

Basic InPost Pay flow in your online store

Purchase process flow in InPost Pay - LINK.

  1. The typical flow for an end user looks like this:
    a. The user visits the merchant’s website (mobile or desktop).
    b. They click the “Create cart with InPost” button.
    c. The product is added to the merchant’s cart. Cart details are sent to InPost Pay (Basket App), and the cart is marked as synchronized with InPost Pay.
    d. The InPost Mobile app sends a push notification about the new cart ready for payment.
    e. By tapping the notification, the user is redirected to the corresponding cart in InPost Mobile.
    f. The app automatically fills in the last selected delivery option and default payment method from the user’s profile.
    g. When the user clicks “Order and Pay”, InPost Pay creates an order with the merchant based on the current cart.
    h. The user completes the payment in InPost Mobile.
    i. The payment confirmation is sent to the merchant.
    j. The merchant prepares and ships the parcel as usual – InPost Pay does not change the shipment process.
    k. After dispatch, the merchant provides the tracking number back to InPost Pay.

  2. Integration model – via the shopping cart

Products the user wants to purchase with InPost Pay are first added to the merchant’s cart. The merchant then sends cart updates to InPost Pay. Synchronization applies only to carts where the user has selected “Create cart with InPost” at least once.

  1. Updating synchronized carts

If the user modifies a synchronized cart on the merchant’s website (e.g. changes quantities, adds products), the merchant sends the entire cart to InPost Pay for update or recreation.

InPost Pay will then either:

  • update the existing cart, or

  • link the cart to the phone number assigned to a trusted browser,
and return a confirmation of successful operation.

  1. Cart actions in InPost Mobile

The integration allows users to perform cart actions directly in the InPost Mobile app, such as changing quantities or entering a promo code. Each change is sent to the merchant, who recalculates the cart and sends the updated version back to InPost Pay.

  1. Terms and conditions

Before completing the purchase, the user accepts the merchant’s terms and any required consents.

  1. Checkout flexibility

The user can always finalize the cart directly on the merchant’s website. In this case, the order is not processed by InPost Pay, and the merchant informs InPost Pay of the finalized cart through a separate channel.

Key points to remember

  1. A user can have multiple active, synchronized carts at the same time (e.g. shopping with different merchants). Payment for each cart is processed separately, and so are cart modifications such as quantity changes or promo codes, according to each merchant’s rules.

  2. The relationship between a merchant’s cart and an InPost Pay cart is 1:1.

  3. In the InPost Mobile app, users can:

    • change product quantities,

    • remove products,

    • add recommended products,

    • enter promo codes,

    • enter invoice details.

  4. Every change made in InPost Mobile is sent to the merchant, who always returns the full updated cart.

  5. If the merchant makes any changes to a synchronized cart, the full cart is also resent to InPost Pay.

Integration with InPost Pay does not affect the merchant’s existing integration with InPost systems for parcel generation.
